Andrew Houchins, PA-C

About Andrew

Andrew Houchins, PA-C is a retired (2018, Major) US Air Force Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant. Prior to joining Daviess Community Hospital, he served at Wright Patterson AFB Medical Center in Ohio.

Andrew served as a Staff Orthopaedic Physician Assistant in a multi-surgeon practice comprised of 5 Orthopaedic Surgeons, 1 Hand surgeon, 1 Podiatrists and 3 Ortho PA’s. He treats conditions ranging from routine musculoskeletal conditions, fractures, end stage arthritis, and trauma.

In addition to duties as a Staff Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant, Andrew served as Program Director for the AFIT Physician Assistant Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery. He provided hands on training in fracture management, treatment of routine musculoskeletal conditions, surgical first assist duties, as well as, a didactics component with Doctorate level testing.

Andrew also has extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as, Surgical First Assist duties. In addition to his Orthopaedic Surgery experience, he also has 5 years of Family Medicine experience and a collective 15 years of Operating Room experience to date. He has held numerous leadership roles, including direct supervision of staff and peer providers.
