F. Steven Land, MD, is a highly experienced physician with a distinguished career in family and emergency medicine. A native of French Lick, Indiana, Dr. Land has dedicated his professional life to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while also advocating for critical healthcare policies at the state and national levels.

Dr. Land earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1982 before completing his residency in family medicine at Methodist Hospital of Indiana. His extensive career spans decades of service in emergency medicine, with clinical roles at hospitals across Indiana and Florida, including Riverview Hospital, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills, and Daviess Community Hospital. His leadership experience includes serving as Chief of Staff at Riverview Hospital, where he became the only physician in the hospital’s history to serve two consecutive terms.

Beyond clinical care, Dr. Land has made a significant impact in organized medicine. He has held multiple leadership roles with the Indiana State Medical Association (ISMA), serving as a district trustee and chairing key committees focused on family violence prevention, healthcare policy, and medical staff governance. His advocacy efforts have influenced public policy on domestic violence awareness, gun violence prevention, and healthcare access for autistic children. For his distinguished efforts in domestic violence education, Dr. Land was awarded the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash, Indiana’s highest honor bestowed by the governor.

Dr. Land’s dedication to medicine extends into sports medicine, having provided care for Indianapolis Public Schools and contributing to the sports medicine program at Riverview Hospital. His broad expertise and commitment to patient well-being have made him a trusted leader in the medical community.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Land enjoys an active lifestyle, including walking, swimming, alpine skiing, tennis, biking, golf, and gardening. He values time with his family, including his wife, children, and grandchildren.
