Rakesh Kumar, MD, is a pediatric gastroenterologist specializing in gastrointestinal (GI) disorders in children. At Peyton Manning Children’s in Evansville, Indiana. Dr. Kumar has the expertise to diagnose and treat many GI conditions, including celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic constipation, chronic abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and many more conditions.

He starts by listening to understand your child and your health concerns. Then, our care team works with you to create a care plan. Dr. Kumar’s goal is to determine the cause of your child’s symptoms and deliver a care plan that helps provide relief.

Whether your child has new symptoms or you're looking for a second opinion, Dr. Kumar is here for you. As part of a multi-specialty team, he works with pediatric specialists at Peyton Manning Children's to deliver comprehensive care for your child. He has a special interest in chronic abdominal pain, chronic constipation, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, eosinophilic esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and pancreatic diseases and gastroesophageal reflux disease and more.

Dr.Kumar has a subspecialty certification from The American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Gastroenterology. He is a member of the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition (NASPGHAN) and NASPGHAN and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and is recognized for his work in pancreatic diseases. Dr. Kumar is also fluent in English, Hindi, Sindhi and Urdu.
