DCH Acute Rehabilitation Unit Receives CARF Accreditation
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) surveyed the Acute Rehab Unit in November 2019. Notification was received in January that the Daviess Community Hospital Acute Rehabilitation Unit is accredited by CARF International for a period of one year for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital (Adults). This accreditation extends through January 2021. Daviess Community Hospital Acute Rehab Unit has continuously received accreditation since 2005.
“This achievement is an indication of the organization’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served. Services, personnel and documentation clearly show an established pattern of practice excellence,” stated Brian Boon, President of CARF International.
“We are honored to receive this accreditation again,” stated Carla Sims, RN, Rehab Clinical Supervisor. “It is an ongoing process which takes the entire Acute Rehab Unit team to achieve. We are fortunate to have a dedicated nursing staff, therapy staff and medical director on our Acute Rehab Unit that have made such a commitment to continuous improvement. This commitment is found not only on the Acute Rehab Unit, but throughout Daviess Community Hospital.”
CARF stands for Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of persons served.
