Daviess Community Hospital Hosts Cookout Fundraiser to Support Oncology Patients

Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) is excited to announce a special cookout fundraiser on August 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Education Room 1 at Daviess Community Hospital. This event aims to support the DCH Oncology Patient Assistance Fund, dedicated to helping patients overcome obstacles that might hinder their cancer treatment.

The cookout will feature a delicious menu including hotdogs, hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, and dessert. The event is donation-based with no fee to eat, encouraging attendees to give what they can to support oncology patients in need. Donations can be made in cash or by check, and payroll deduction is available for DCH employees. Unfortunately, card payments will not be accepted.

"Supporting our patients in their battle against cancer is a cause close to our hearts," said Sharon Mead, RN, OCN, ONN-CG, Daviess Community Hospital Cancer Patient Navigator. "This cookout is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy great food, and contribute to a fund that directly impacts the lives of our oncology patients. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant difference."

DCH is committed to providing comprehensive support to its patients, and the Oncology Patient Assistance Fund plays a crucial role in this effort. The fund assists patients with various needs, from transportation and lodging to medication and nutritional support, ensuring that financial barriers do not impede their treatment.

Everyone is welcome to attend this fun and impactful event.

“Join us for a meal, make a donation, and celebrate the community spirit that makes DCH a beacon of hope for so many,” Mead said.
