At Daviess Community Hospital, we offer a structured and individualized pulmonary rehabilitation program designed to help you manage your respiratory condition and improve your overall ability to breathe. Our medically supervised health and fitness program is tailored to meet your specific health needs, ensuring you receive the best possible care.
If you experience shortness of breath during daily activities, you may have a treatable respiratory problem. Pulmonary rehabilitation can significantly reduce the sensation of shortness of breath, enhance your activity endurance, and improve your quality of life. Our dedicated pulmonary rehab team works closely with each patient to develop a personalized rehabilitation plan that addresses their unique health requirements.
Our pulmonary rehabilitation program spans 18 weeks, with two 1-hour sessions each week. Throughout the program, patients participate in various exercises and receive close monitoring and evaluation to ensure safe and effective progression. Additional sessions may include nutritional and stress management counseling to support overall health and well-being.
Once you complete the initial program, we provide a maintenance exercise plan to help you continue physical activity independently, either at home or at an exercise facility. Periodic evaluations may be scheduled to monitor your progress and adjust your program as needed. Regular reports are sent to your physician to keep them informed of your improvements.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is covered by most insurance companies. Our staff will work with you to verify that you have the medical insurance coverage needed for the services, but please check with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage.
