When your hands, wrists, or elbows are injured or recovering from surgery, it affects your ability to work, care for yourself, and do the things you love. At Daviess Community Hospital’s CORE Center, we provide specialized certified hand therapy to support your recovery and help restore function in the upper extremity.
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or healing from an injury, our hand therapy services are designed to get you back to doing the things that matter most.
Offered at both CORE Center locations:
Certified hand therapy is an advanced area of rehabilitation focused on conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. It blends the specialties of occupational therapy and physical therapy to deliver comprehensive, targeted care for the upper extremity.
To become a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), a licensed therapist must complete thousands of hours of direct care in upper extremity orthopedics and pass a rigorous national certification exam—with only about 50% of test-takers passing on their first attempt. It’s a distinction held by fewer than 7,000 professionals worldwide.
At CORE Center, patients benefit from this highly specialized training and expert care.
Our hand therapy services help patients recover from a wide range of injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions, including:
Your therapy plan will be completely individualized, based on your condition, goals, and functional needs. Our certified hand therapy services may include:
Each treatment is designed to promote healing, reduce pain, and help you return to daily activities with strength, control, and confidence.
You may benefit from certified hand therapy if you are:
Our therapists work closely with referring physicians to ensure seamless, coordinated care from diagnosis through full recovery.
If you’re dealing with pain, stiffness, or weakness in your hand or upper extremity, certified hand therapy at CORE Center can make a lasting difference. Let our expert team help you rebuild function and regain control of your daily life.
