If you’re recovering from an injury or struggling with chronic pain in your hands, wrists, or elbows, fluidotherapy at Daviess Community Hospital’s CORE Center may offer the relief you need. This non-invasive, comfortable therapy uses dry heat and gentle air pressure to reduce pain, improve circulation, and enhance range of motion—helping you get back to daily life with greater ease.
Fluidotherapy is available at both CORE Center locations:

Fluidotherapy is a therapeutic treatment that uses dry heat combined with finely ground particles—similar to corn husks—circulated by warm air. The treated limb is placed into a chamber where the warm, moving particles stimulate circulation, reduce swelling, and increase tissue elasticity.
This treatment is ideal for improving joint mobility, reducing stiffness, and managing pain in the upper extremities.
Unlike moist heat treatments, fluidotherapy uses dry heat, making it a great option for patients who may not tolerate wet heat or who have sensitive skin.
Fluidotherapy is commonly used to treat:
It is also often used as a warm-up treatment before active therapy or exercise to help maximize treatment outcomes.
During a session, your hand or arm will be placed into the fluidotherapy machine. The gentle air-driven particles move around the limb, delivering dry heat and a light massaging effect. Treatment typically lasts between 15 and 20 minutes and is supervised by a trained therapy provider.
Many patients find fluidotherapy not only effective, but also soothing and enjoyable.
At CORE Center, our experienced therapists will evaluate your condition and determine if fluidotherapy is right for your treatment plan. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or managing chronic pain, we’re here to support your path to healing and function.
